Job Summary

Central Park Bees ( Swahili Honey )  are looking for Beekeeping : Project Officers (5). The ideal candidates are highly organized, clear communicator who has a passion for spreadsheets. We’re looking for team players who are ready to roll up their sleeves and solve problems creatively.

This is an excellent opportunity for a budding project manager who is looking to advance their career at a dynamic, mission-driven company. The Project Officer will work closely with our Account Managers and report to the Creative Director.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Training of beekeeping association in honey project implementation
  • Setting up of systems to be used by implementing partner
  • Promotion of beekeeping and improved/ modern hives
  • To develop training sessions and materials on beekeeping, hive management, quality honey harvesting, refining and marketing
  • To set up and train a local beekeeping association
  • To set up, plan, supervise and monitor implementation of beekeeping project by local beekeeping association
  • To assess the activities undertaken by implementing partner to ensure efficient use of resources
  • To ensure that all project reporting (internal and external) is completed in a timely and accurate manner following stipulated procedures and reporting formats
  • To oversee the work of implementing partners
  • To assists implementing partner with planning, budgeting and ensure appropriate expenditure of budgets in line with donor requirements
  • Support the Director in all aspects of the project management cycle including activity planning and delivery, tracking expenditure against contractual budget, monitoring and recording progress, report writing and communicating achievements to existing and potential donors.
  • Working with partners maintain a monitoring and evaluation database to generate evidence of achievements
  • Build effective relationships and develop networks with all stakeholders including local and regional authorities, donors, partners and other stakeholders.

Education Other Skills Required
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently and work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Extremely organized and exhibit a high degree of attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbalcommunication skills 
  • Proven ability to solve problems creatively
  • Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices
  • 3-5 years’ of experience in an administrative support role and/or projects-related role
  • Bachelors degree in Animal Science, Agronomy; environmental studies or related studies
  • Certification in beekeeping and 3 years experience in implementing beekeeping projects
  • Must have minimum of 3 years hands on experience in working with similar Beekeeping related projects 
  • Should have excellent training and facilitation skills.
  • Proven prior experience in Project Cordination , Monitoring and Evaluation
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel
