Job Summary

 

On behalf a client. they have an exciting opportunity for someone to join us as an HR Business Partner based in Tanzania to provide key support of all HR functions across Kenya, Tanzania and Ethiopia reporting directly to the Regional HR for East Africa. The post-holder will play a key role in contributing to, and the implementation of a range of HR functions including recruitment and retention, training and development, employee relations, compensation and benefits, payroll management, industrial relations and administrative responsibilities and will act as a front-line support to the Regional HR. The role provides long term development potential for someone eager to demonstrate their skills and experience in a challenging and fast paced soft commodities environment.

 

 


Duties And Responsibilities
  • Support in the design, implementation and delivery of HR initiatives that are aligned to the overall organization strategy
  • Lead in the collation and input of monthly required payroll information into the relevant payroll system submitting to the Regional HR for upward approvals
  • Guide and lead in the co-ordination and implementation of the recruitment process as per the recruitment policy
  • Support the management of disciplinary and grievance issues in line with the disciplinary code and procedure
  • Support the Regional HR in leading to ensure that staff training needs assessments are carried out in line with the training and development plan as well as organizing staff training sessions and activities
  • Supporting in the co-ordination of the staff performance evaluation process in line with the performance management policy
  • Ensuring the correct verification of the entry check list for new joiners and exit checklist for leavers ensuring the correct documentation has been completed for all
  • Responsible for ensuring that employee records are up to date (personnel files and on HRnet) while maintaining confidentiality at all times
  • Work closely with the insurance service provider company or insurance broker to ensure that the staff have timely medical cover, medical claims are reimbursed, any medical issues are sorted out urgently.
  • Ensuring any exits or new entries on the scheme are done appropriately for a smooth flow between the scheme and the organization

     

  • Lead in ensuring th HR team is managing the new hire orientation program and oversee effective implementation in the country

     

  • Maintaining employee records and paperwork
  • Answering employee questions and addressing employee concerns within company
  • Take part in all HR related pojects and assignements that arise fom time to time
  •   Peform any other duties or duties or adminstrative tasks that may be assigned from time to time         

                 


Education Other Skills Required
  •     University degree in Human Resources or similar professional qualification
  •     Relevant professional experience in human resources within a busy environment
  •     Knowledge and experience of managing a payroll is desirable
  •   Previous experience working with an international, cross-cultural setting, preferably within HR is desirable
  •      Strong decision making and problem solving
  •      Ability to analyze, interpret and explain employment law
  •      Ability to analyze and interpret numerical data and processes (HR Analytics)
  •     Ability to maintain the highest degree of discretion and confidentiality of HR information
  •      Organized and methodical and with good attention to detail
  •      Good interpersonal and communcation skills
  •       Ability to work on own initiative with limited supervision
  •       Excellent Microsoft Office packages - Word, Excel, and Outlook
