Swahili Honey stands as Tanzania's second-largest honey producer, working with more than 1800 smallholder farmers to generate top-quality honey through ethical sourcing and harvesting practices. We are looking for an Accountant to support the Finance Department in maintaining the books of accounts ensuring accuracy of financial transactions.
Reports to: Chief Finance Officer
Duties And Responsibilities
Generating, updating, and maintaining reports on income, expenditure, and financial transactions
Keep a record of project expenses, contracts, and other accounting data
Understanding project requirements and budgets
Analyzing supplier invoices and contracts for completeness
Assisting in creating project-related documents and bills
Assess the accuracy and completeness of expenses submitted by employees
Manage and reconcile petty cash
Manage accounts payable ensuring timely and accurate payments to vendors
Maintain vendor files
Manage accounts receivable; including monitoring credit periods and notifying customers when their accounts are due
Debt management; follow up on outstanding payments
File all tax returns (PAYE, Income tax, SDL, VAT)
Manage payroll and file all statutory deductions (WCF, NSSF)
Maintain an asset register and apportioning depreciation as necessary
Assist in preparing budgets and financial forecasts
Maintain accurate financial records for audit purposes
Generate periodic reports and submit the same to management
Stay informed on current legislation relating to finance and accounting
Education Other Skills Required
Bachelors in Accounting and Finance or any related field
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar role
Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in accounting and CPA (T)
Competency in G-suite and Odoo
High degree of accuracy
Excellent administrative skills
Experience in a similar industry will be an added advantage
