Omros Foods Co. Limited  is a one trusted player and modern meat processing plant in the food industry, specializing in high-quality and innovative fresh and frozen meat products in Tanzania. With a commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction, we have built a strong reputation in the market and are now looking to expand our sales and marketing efforts.

As a Senior Business Development Manager with experience in the food industry, you will be a key driver of growth and expansion for our food-related business. You will be responsible for identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and strengthening our market presence in the food sector. Your expertise in the food industry will play a crucial role in developing innovative strategies to achieve revenue growth and enhance our customer base.

Duties And Responsibilities
Market Research and Trend Analysis:
Conduct in-depth market research to identify emerging trends, consumer preferences, and competitors in the food industry.
Analyze market data to discover new opportunities for product development and market expansion.
 
Lead Generation and Customer Acquisition:
Generate high-quality leads and prospects within the food industry through various channels, including cold-calling, networking, and attending industry events.
Engage potential clients and customers to understand their specific needs and tailor solutions accordingly.
 
Client Relationship Management:
Cultivate strong relationships with existing clients and customers in the food industry to ensure satisfaction and foster repeat business.
Provide excellent customer service and promptly address any inquiries or concerns.
 
New Product and Service Development:
Collaborate with product development teams to identify gaps in the market and contribute insights to create innovative food products and services.
Develop and implement strategies for the successful launch and promotion of new food-related offerings.
 
Supplier and Partner Collaboration:
Identify and establish strategic partnerships with suppliers, distributors, and other stakeholders within the food industry to leverage synergies and enhance our product offerings.
 
Negotiation and Contract Closure:
Negotiate terms and conditions of contracts, pricing agreements, and partnership arrangements to secure mutually beneficial outcomes for the company.
 
Sales Strategy and Planning:
Work closely with the sales team to develop effective sales strategies and tactics that align with the unique characteristics of the food industry.
Set sales targets and monitor progress towards achieving them.
 
Market Insights and Reporting:
Stay informed about industry trends, consumer preferences, and regulatory developments that may impact the food sector.
Prepare regular reports and presentations to share insights and provide recommendations to the management team.
 
Budget Management:
Ensure that business development activities within the food industry align with the allocated budget and demonstrate a positive return on investment.

Compliance and Food Safety:
Ensure that all business activities and partnerships comply with relevant food safety and industry regulations.

Education Other Skills Required
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (Marketing), Food Science, or a related field. MBA is an advantageous.
  2. Minimum of 5 years proven work experience as a Senior Business Development Officer or Senior Sales & Marketing Officer within the food industry.
  3. Strong understanding of food industry trends, consumer behavior, and market dynamics.
  4. Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  5. Demonstrated success in building and maintaining relationships with clients and partners in the food sector.
  6. Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  7. Proficiency in Computer Applications.
  8. Flexibility to travel as needed.
