Kilindu Giattas & Partners (‘KG&P’ or ‘the Firm’) is a boutique law practice based in Dar-es-Salaam City that offers bespoke legal services to its clients, with expertise in Banking, Project Finance, Mergers & Acquisitions, Capital Markets & Securities, Corporate & Commercial, Extractive Industries, Intellectual Property, Construction and Real Estate.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Corporate Lawyer to join our legal team and contribute to our ongoing success. As a Corporate Lawyer, you will play a key role in providing legal counsel and support on a wide range of corporate matters. 


Duties And Responsibilities
  • Take instructions, assignment, tasks given by the Partners in all areas which the Firm specializes in, most notably, in project finance, banking, corporate and commercial, property and real estate, secretarial, mining, capital markets & securities and labour. 
  • Ensuring that all transactions undertaken by the Associate comply with the relevant laws and regulations, and the Firm’s internal policies.
  • Conduct thorough research on all instructions, assignment and tasks assigned to the Associate.
  • Represent clients in negotiations and diligently ensure adherence to relevant laws and agreements throughout the entirety of the process.
  • Where required, make Court appearances whether in Judges’, Magistrates’ or Registrars’ Chambers, Open Court, Commission for Mediation and Arbitration, Tax Appeals Board, arbitration forums, etc on behalf of the Firm’s (or its affiliates’) clients, carrying out legal research in respect thereof and drafting the necessary pleadings in that respect.
  • Throughout any legal process, creating and maintaining a good rapport with the Firm’s clients. This includes communicating often and explaining complex legal proceedings and concepts.
  • Provide any other services as shall be assigned to the Associate the Partners or any other management team member.

Education Other Skills Required
  • Bachelor's degree in law.
  • Experience in the law field.
  • Strong analytical and research skills.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work well within a team and individually.
  • Ability to work long hours when needed.
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of corporate law principles, regulations, and best practices.
  • Proven experience drafting, negotiating, and advising on corporate agreements and transactions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to effectively identify and assess legal risks and issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, and to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
