Job Summary
As a Station Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations for a bus company in Shekilango branch in Dar es Salaam. This includes managing staff, ensuring customer satisfaction, ensuring ticket distribution and booking, and parcel management and overall booking. The role requires strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills to ensure the branch operates efficiently and effectively.

Duties And Responsibilities
Operations Management:
  • Oversee daily operations of the branch to ensure efficiency and high-quality service.
  • Manage ticket sales, ensuring accurate and timely processing of bookings and refunds.
  • Supervise parcel service operations, ensuring secure and timely delivery of packages.
  • Coordinate all booking activities, including group reservations and special requests.
Staff Management:
  • Lead, motivate, and manage branch staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Develop staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage and efficient operations.
  • Foster a positive work environment and address any employee relations issues.
Customer Service:
  • Ensure exceptional customer service is provided at all times, addressing customer inquiries and complaints promptly.
  • Implement and maintain customer service standards and policies.
  • Monitor customer feedback and implement improvements as needed.
Financial Management:
  • Oversee the branch budget, including managing expenses and revenues.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance, implementing strategies to achieve financial targets.

Compliance and Safety:
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment for both employees and customers.
  • Implement and monitor safety protocols and procedures.

Marketing and Business Development:
  • Develop and implement local marketing strategies to increase sales and brand awareness.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to grow the branch’s customer base.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including local businesses and community organizations.
Reporting and Analysis:
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on branch performance, including sales, customer service, and operational efficiency.
  • Analyze branch data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.

Education Other Skills Required
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Transportation, or a related field preferred.

Experience:
  • Proven experience as a Branch Manager or similar role in the transportation or logistics industry.
  • Experience in managing ticket sales, staff supervision, and customer service operations.
  • Knowledge of parcel service operations is highly desirable.

Skills:

  • Proficient in financial management and budgeting.
