Job Summary
As the Workshop Manager you are responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our workshop, ensuring efficient and effective workflow, maintaining high standards of service, and fostering a safe and productive work environment. This role involves managing a team of technicians, coordinating with other departments, and ensuring that all work meets the company's quality standards.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and oversee the daily operations of the workshop.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of all repair and maintenance tasks.
- Implement and monitor standard operating procedures to improve efficiency.
- Supervise, train, and support a team of technicians and workshop staff.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
- Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.
- Liaise with customers to understand their service needs and provide expert advice.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through effective communication and service delivery.
- Handle customer complaints and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and quality control.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
- Implement quality improvement initiatives.
- Manage inventory levels of tools, equipment, and spare parts.
- Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure timely availability of required materials.
- Monitor and manage workshop expenses to meet budgetary targets.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations within the workshop.
- Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions.
- Implement and enforce company policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of all workshop activities, including job cards, work orders, and maintenance logs.
- Prepare and present regular reports on workshop performance and productivity.
- Use data to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
Education Other Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience as a Workshop Manager or similar role in the automotive industry.
- Strong technical knowledge of vehicles, machinery, and workshop equipment.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficient in using workshop management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
