Job Summary
As the Workshop Manager you are responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our workshop, ensuring efficient and effective workflow, maintaining high standards of service, and fostering a safe and productive work environment. This role involves managing a team of technicians, coordinating with other departments, and ensuring that all work meets the company's quality standards.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, and oversee the daily operations of the workshop.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of all repair and maintenance tasks.
  • Implement and monitor standard operating procedures to improve efficiency.
  • Supervise, train, and support a team of technicians and workshop staff.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.
  • Liaise with customers to understand their service needs and provide expert advice.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through effective communication and service delivery.
  • Handle customer complaints and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship and quality control.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
  • Implement quality improvement initiatives.
  • Manage inventory levels of tools, equipment, and spare parts.
  • Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure timely availability of required materials.
  • Monitor and manage workshop expenses to meet budgetary targets.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations within the workshop.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions.
  • Implement and enforce company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of all workshop activities, including job cards, work orders, and maintenance logs.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on workshop performance and productivity.
  • Use data to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.

Education Other Skills Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience as a Workshop Manager or similar role in the automotive industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge of vehicles, machinery, and workshop equipment.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficient in using workshop management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
