Job Summary
As a Communications Officer will be responsible for developing and implementing effective communication strategies to promote our organization’s mission, vision, and services. This role involves creating content, managing media relations, coordinating public relations activities, and ensuring consistent messaging across all platforms. The ideal candidate will have exceptional writing and editing skills, a strong understanding of media relations, and the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
Duties And Responsibilities
Develop and execute comprehensive communication plans and strategies to support the company’s goals and initiatives.
Create, edit, and distribute content for various communication channels, including press releases, newsletters, social media, website, and internal communications.
Manage media relations, including drafting press releases, responding to media inquiries, and building relationships with journalists and media outlets.
Coordinate public relations activities and events, such as press conferences, interviews, and promotional campaigns.
Ensure consistent and accurate messaging across all communication platforms.
Monitor and analyze media coverage and communication metrics, providing regular reports to senior management.
Collaborate with other departments to gather information and ensure cohesive communication efforts.
Assist in crisis communication planning and response.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and best practices in communication and public relations.
Manage and update the company’s social media profiles and presence.
Support internal communication initiatives to enhance employee engagement and alignment with company goals.
Education Other Skills Required
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a communications or public relations role, preferably in Agribusiness.
Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a strong attention to detail.
Proven experience in developing and executing communication strategies and plans.
Strong understanding of media relations and experience working with journalists and media outlets.
Proficiency in using communication tools and platforms, including social media, content management systems, and email marketing software.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret communication metrics and data.
Creative thinker with the ability to develop innovative communication solutions.
Experience in crisis communication and issues management is a plus.
