Job Summary
The purpose of this role is to lead, drive and advise on clients and markets development activity. You will have the responsibility to drive the firm’s growth, enhancing client relationships and expanding the firm’s market presence across Tanzania. You will also be playing a role in the general administration of the Firm including handling personnel and human resources affairs.
You will work closely with Partners, Associates, Lawyers and other stakeholders across the firm to develop and implement effective business development strategies and initiatives as well as focus on all aspects of delivery, process improvement and innovation, ensuring that we provide our clients with exceptional services.
This position requires a strong combination of marketing and relationship-building skills to achieve business objectives and foster client satisfaction. Knowledge or experience in law is not required but is a welcome advantage.
Duties And Responsibilities
Business Development
Develop and execute comprehensive business development strategies and plans to drive growth of the firm including revenue growth. This will include collaborating with Partners, Associates, Lawyers and other internal stakeholders to develop strategies for client acquisition, retention and expansion.
Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, understanding their legal needs, and identifying opportunities for cross-selling or upselling legal services.
Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, industry insights, and potential business opportunities.
Proactively engage with clients to identify new business opportunities and foster long-term relationships.
Develop persuasive proposals and pitch presentations and lead proposal development process, ensuring timely and high-quality submissions.
Conduct competitive analysis to identify market positioning, differentiation strategies, and potential areas for growth and work closely with Partners, Associates and Lawyers to create, manage, budget for and implement business development plans.
Provide regular updates and insights to Partners and Associates on market developments that may impact the firm’s business.
Plan, execute and participate in client facing and relationship development initiatives such as events, seminars, client workshops, webinars, articles, conferences and roundtables and attend sales opportunities with partners and lawyers.
Identify relevant sponsorship opportunities and manage relationships with industry associations and organizations.
Engage with the Dentons team via a client/customer relationship to access campaigns support; the capture of experience; the delivery database support; press, media and communications, and brand/ collateral support.
Apply a sophisticated approach to the use of data, web, SEO, analytics, business analysis, client targeting and the development of content to generate leads for pursuit.
Practice Management:
Overall general administration of the firm.
Handle all human resources and personnel affairs of the firm.
Other related or unrelated duties as may be assigned from time to time by the firm’s management.
Education Other Skills Required
Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, sales or related field.
Minimum five years’ experience in business development, marketing, sales and management, with at least three years’ experience in a managerial role.
A proven ability to plan, develop and execute business development strategies.
A proven ability to develop and implement B2B marketing and sales strategies.
Strong background in negotiating and tendering.
Excellent communication, listening and presentation skills.
