Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Accountant to join our dynamic team. The Chief Accountant will play a crucial role in managing the financial operations and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records.
The Chief Accountant is responsible for overseeing the accounting department, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing strategic financial guidance to support the company's objectives. This role involves managing financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls, as well as supervising accounting staff.
Duties And Responsibilities
Financial Reporting:
Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards and regulations.
Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Develop and monitor annual budgets, providing variance analysis and actionable insights.
Prepare financial forecasts and provide recommendations to support strategic planning.
Internal Controls:
Establish, monitor, and enforce internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial data.
Conduct regular audits to identify and mitigate financial risks.
Team Leadership:
Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team capabilities.
Tax Compliance:
Ensure timely and accurate filing of tax returns and compliance with all tax regulations.
Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors.
Financial Analysis:
Analyze financial performance and trends to provide insights and recommendations for business improvement.
Support management in decision-making through financial analysis and reporting.
Cash Management:
Oversee cash flow management, including monitoring receivables and payables.
Develop and implement strategies to optimize cash flow and working capital.
Education Other Skills Required
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 3 years in a senior accounting role.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS).
Proficient in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
