Job Summary
As a Workshop Foreman you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the auto repair workshop, ensuring that all repairs and maintenance services are performed efficiently and to the highest standards. This role requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of automotive systems, and the ability to manage a team of technicians. You will be responsible for coordinating workflow, maintaining quality control, and ensuring a safe and productive work environment.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead a team of technicians and mechanics.
- Allocate jobs to technicians based on skill levels and workload.
- Ensure all work is carried out to the highest standard and within set timeframes.
- Diagnose complex mechanical issues and provide guidance on repairs.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workshop environment.
- Monitor inventory and order parts as needed.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Liaise with customers, providing updates and explanations on work performed.
- Manage scheduling and workflow to maximize efficiency.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide training to staff.
Education Other Skills Required
- At least 4 years’ experience.
- Proven experience as an Auto/Garage Workshop Foreman/Manager or similar role.
- Strong technical knowledge of automotive systems and repairs.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues efficiently.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Familiarity with workshop safety protocols and regulations.
- Ability to manage new verses used parts and maintain accurate records.
- Relevant certifications or technical training in automotive repair maintenance.
- Must be able to maximize productivity keeping required standard of job delivery.
