Job Summary
As a Workshop Foreman you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the auto repair workshop, ensuring that all repairs and maintenance services are performed efficiently and to the highest standards. This role requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of automotive systems, and the ability to manage a team of technicians. You will be responsible for coordinating workflow, maintaining quality control, and ensuring a safe and productive work environment.
Duties And Responsibilities
Supervise and lead a team of technicians and mechanics.
Allocate jobs to technicians based on skill levels and workload.
Ensure all work is carried out to the highest standard and within set timeframes.
Diagnose complex mechanical issues and provide guidance on repairs.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workshop environment.
Monitor inventory and order parts as needed.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Liaise with customers, providing updates and explanations on work performed.
Manage scheduling and workflow to maximize efficiency.
Conduct regular performance reviews and provide training to staff.
Education Other Skills Required
At least 4 years’ experience.
Proven experience as an Auto/Garage Workshop Foreman/Manager or similar role.
Strong technical knowledge of automotive systems and repairs.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues efficiently.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Familiarity with workshop safety protocols and regulations.
Ability to manage new verses used parts and maintain accurate records.
Relevant certifications or technical training in automotive repair maintenance.
Must be able to maximize productivity keeping required standard of job delivery.
