Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Chef on behalf of their team at their lodge. As the Chef, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals for their guests, showcasing both local and international cuisine. You will play a key role in ensuring an exceptional dining experience that enhances the overall guest satisfaction at our lodge.
Duties And Responsibilities
Menu Planning & Design: Develop and design menus that reflect the lodge's theme and the preferences of our guests, incorporating seasonal and locally sourced ingredients.
Food Preparation & Cooking: Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special event catering, ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and quality.
Kitchen Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, including inventory management, ordering supplies, and maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in accordance with health regulations.
Team Leadership: Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring they adhere to food preparation guidelines and safety procedures. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
Guest Interaction: Engage with guests to understand their dietary preferences and special requests, providing personalized culinary experiences.
Cost Control: Manage kitchen budgets, monitor food costs, and minimize waste without compromising the quality of the dishes served.
Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure that the kitchen complies with all relevant health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment.
Special Events: Plan and execute special events, such as themed dinners, cooking classes, and private dining experiences, enhancing the guest experience.
Education Other Skills Required
Culinary degree or equivalent professional certification.
Proven experience as a Chef in a high-end restaurant, hotel, or lodge environment.
Strong knowledge of various cooking techniques, cuisines, and dietary requirements.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with guests.
Understanding of kitchen budgeting and cost control.
