Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Area Sales Manager on behalf of our client to drive sales and manage channel distribution for telecom products and consumer electronics in designated regions.This role is responsible for overseeing sales activities, driving both sell-in and sell-out strategies, and ensuring the company’s products maintain a competitive presence across Dodoma, Arusha, Mwanza, Tabora, Mbeya, and Mtwara.
Duties And Responsibilities
Sales Strategy & Execution:
Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve the company’s objectives within assigned regions.
Drive both sell-in and sell-out sales activities, ensuring strong presence in the telecom and consumer electronics markets.
Identify market opportunities and implement plans to capture market share, working closely with dealers and distributors.
Channel Sales Management:
Manage and expand relationships with telecom dealers, distributors, and retail partners to increase product availability and visibility.
Ensure optimal product distribution and availability across all key channels within the assigned regions.
Coordinate promotional activities, in-store displays, and marketing campaigns to maximize sales potential.
Team Leadership & Development:
Lead and manage the regional sales team, providing training, mentorship, and guidance to ensure high performance.
Set and track sales targets for the team, regularly reviewing performance and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
Foster a collaborative and results-driven team culture, promoting innovation and accountability.
Market Analysis & Reporting:
Conduct regular market analysis to understand customer preferences, market trends, and competitor activities.
Provide insights on regional sales performance, market dynamics, and business opportunities to senior management.
Prepare and present sales reports, forecasts, and other key performance metrics on a regular basis.
Relationship Building:
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including dealers, distributors, and large retail chains.
Act as the key point of contact for all sales-related inquiries and ensure customer satisfaction across all regions.
Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with channel partners to maximize profitability and maintain long-term relationships.
Product Knowledge & Support:
Stay updated on product features, benefits, and market positioning to effectively communicate with partners and customers.
Provide product training and support to dealer and distributor staff to ensure they are well-equipped to sell the products.
Gather feedback from the market to help improve product offerings and overall customer experience.
Regional Sales Expansion:
Identify new business opportunities and markets within the assigned regions, expanding sales channels and customer reach.
Work with the marketing team to tailor regional promotional strategies and ensure alignment with overall sales objectives.
Education Other Skills Required
MBA in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales management, with a focus on channel sales and distribution.
Proven experience working with telecom dealers, distributors, and managing consumer electronics sales.
Strong knowledge of sales-in and sales-out strategies, with a focus on driving results in highly competitive markets.
Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and guide teams to success.
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to travel across assigned regions as required.
5+ years in sales management, preferably in telecom or consumer electronics industries.
Demonstrated success in managing regional sales teams and channel distribution.
