Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Indian Cuisine Chef on behalf of our client to lead their kitchen team and create exceptional Indian dishes. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of traditional and contemporary Indian cooking techniques, flavors, and ingredients. You will be responsible for menu development, maintaining high standards of food quality, and delivering an outstanding dining experience to our guests.

Duties And Responsibilities
Menu Development & Recipe Creation:
  • Design and develop a diverse and authentic Indian menu, incorporating traditional dishes and modern interpretations.
  • Create and test new recipes, ensuring they meet high standards of taste and presentation.
  • Stay updated on food trends and incorporate seasonal ingredients into the menu.

Food Preparation & Cooking:
  • Prepare and cook Indian dishes to the highest standards, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Use traditional cooking techniques such as tandoori, curry, and biryani to create flavorful and authentic dishes.
  • Manage the preparation and cooking of dishes to ensure timely service.

Kitchen Management:
  • Oversee daily kitchen operations, including inventory management, ordering supplies, and maintaining kitchen equipment.
  • Ensure kitchen cleanliness and adherence to food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Train and supervise kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.

Quality Control:
  • Monitor the quality of ingredients and finished dishes to ensure they meet the restaurant's standards.
  • Address any issues related to food quality, presentation, or taste promptly and effectively.
  • Conduct regular taste tests and adjustments to maintain consistency.

Customer Engagement:
  • Interact with guests to receive feedback and ensure their dining experience meets or exceeds expectations.
  • Make recommendations and provide insights into the menu, enhancing the overall guest experience.

Cost Management:
  • Manage food costs by controlling portion sizes, minimizing waste, and optimizing ingredient usage.
  • Develop and maintain budgeted food cost targets and work within established financial guidelines.

Education Other Skills Required
  • Bachelor of Science in Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management or equivalent experience in Indian cuisine is preferred.
  • Proven experience as an Indian Cuisine Chef or in a similar role, with a strong background in traditional and modern Indian cooking.
  • Experience in managing kitchen operations and leading a culinary team.
  • Extensive knowledge of Indian spices, herbs, and cooking techniques.
  • Strong culinary skills with the ability to create authentic and innovative dishes.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Certification in food safety and sanitation is a plus.
