Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Solar Technician to install, maintain, and repair solar energy systems for residential, commercial, and industrial clients on behalf of our client. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of solar energy technologies and be able to ensure that installations meet industry standards for safety and efficiency. This role requires strong technical expertise in photovoltaic (PV) systems, the ability to troubleshoot and repair systems, and a commitment to advancing renewable energy solutions.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough site assessments to determine optimal placement and layout of solar panels based on sunlight exposure and other environmental factors.
- Install, configure, and wire photovoltaic (PV) systems, including solar panels, inverters, batteries, and other electrical components.
- Ensure that all installations meet industry standards, local codes, and safety regulations.
- Connect solar systems to the local power grid, and perform testing to ensure efficient and safe operation.
- Maintain detailed records of all installations, maintenance, and repair tasks, ensuring compliance with applicable standards and guidelines.
- Diagnose and repair malfunctioning solar systems and components, reducing downtime and maximizing system performance.
- Perform regular maintenance and inspections of solar energy systems to ensure they are functioning optimally.
- Stay updated on advancements in solar energy technology, industry best practices, and new regulations.
- Provide clients with technical support, guidance, and system performance reports as needed.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of tools and equipment used in solar installations.
- Collaborate with engineers and other team members to troubleshoot complex system issues and design efficient solutions.
Education Other Skills Required
- Diploma or Certification in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related technical field.
- Proven experience as a Solar Technician or PV Installer with hands-on experience in installing, maintaining, and repairing solar energy systems.
- Deep understanding of photovoltaic (PV) systems, electrical wiring, and solar energy components.
- Relevant certifications in solar installation, such as PV Installer certification (e.g., NABCEP or local equivalent), are a plus.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including experience with inverters, wiring, and grid-tied systems.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues with solar systems efficiently.
- Familiarity with industry safety standards and best practices, including knowledge of electrical codes and regulations.
- Comfortable working outdoors and at heights, with the physical ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various weather conditions.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members, explaining technical details clearly and concisely.
- Precision in installation, wiring, and ensuring all work adheres to technical specifications and safety requirements.
- Ability to stay updated on the latest solar technology developments and continuously improve skills.
