Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Technician to join our maintenance team. The Mechanical Technician will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment. The ideal candidate should possess a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to ensuring that all mechanical systems operate efficiently and safely.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on machinery and equipment, including motors, pumps, conveyors, and HVAC systems.
- Diagnose mechanical malfunctions, identify the root cause of equipment failures, and execute repairs or replace faulty components.
- Assist with the installation, setup, and commissioning of new machinery or equipment according to specifications and safety protocols.
- Conduct regular inspections of mechanical systems, identifying wear, defects, or potential issues before breakdowns occur.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance schedules in compliance with company policies.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe work environment for yourself and team members.
- Work closely with other technicians, engineers, and production teams to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimal downtime.
- Monitor spare parts and tools inventory, ensuring that necessary materials are available when needed.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance machinery performance and reduce operational costs.
Education Other Skills Required
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma with technical certification in mechanical engineering or related field is preferred.
- 2+ years of experience as a Mechanical Technician in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical components.
- Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment, work in confined spaces, and perform tasks that require manual dexterity.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with team members and supervisors.
