Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Logistics Officer on behalf of our client to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the supply chain process, overseeing the transportation and distribution of goods, and ensuring efficient logistics operations. This role is crucial for maintaining the flow of products and services in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee the supply chain operations, ensuring timely delivery of products from suppliers to customers.
- Monitor inventory levels, track shipments, and manage stock levels to optimize storage and reduce excess.
- Organize and manage transportation logistics, including route planning, freight negotiations, and carrier selection.
- Prepare and maintain accurate shipping and receiving documents, including bills of lading, customs documents, and inventory reports.
- Ensure all logistics operations comply with local laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and transport companies to ensure service quality.
- Address and resolve logistical issues as they arise, including delays, damages, or discrepancies in shipments.
- Analyze logistics data to identify trends, improve efficiency, and recommend process enhancements.
Education Other Skills Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in logistics or supply chain management, preferably in the Tanzanian market.
- Strong understanding of inventory management, transportation systems, and logistics software.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and logistics management software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of local and international shipping regulations is an advantage.
