Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Auto-Electric Technician to maintain, repair, and troubleshoot electrical systems for our fleet. The ideal candidate will have expertise in diagnosing electrical issues, installing vehicle electrical components, and ensuring all vehicles meet safety and operational standards. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and experience with various industrial vehicle models and their electrical systems.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical faults in vehicles, including wiring, lights, ignition systems, alternators, and other electrical components.
- Install electrical components such as lights, radios, batteries, inverters, and security systems, ensuring proper functionality and integration.
- Perform routine electrical system maintenance to prevent vehicle breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.
- Test, replace, and service vehicle batteries and charging systems, maintaining records of battery life and service dates.
- Assist with system upgrades, modifications, and retrofits on vehicles to meet industry standards or company needs.
- Ensure all work complies with local safety regulations, performing checks to ensure vehicles are safe and ready for operation.
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, installations, and maintenance performed, updating service logs for each vehicle.
- Work closely with other technicians and the maintenance team to ensure timely and efficient servicing of all vehicles.
Education Other Skills Required
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Auto Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience as an Auto-Electric Technician, with a strong understanding of vehicle electrical systems, diagnostics, and repair.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, wiring schematics, and hand tools.
- Knowledge of local safety standards and compliance requirements for vehicle electrical systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Physical stamina to handle heavy equipment, long hours, and various working conditions.
