Job Summary
We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Procurement Officer to oversee purchasing activities and ensure that products and services meet our client's operational needs. The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation skills, an eye for cost-saving opportunities, and experience in managing vendor relationships. This role requires a proactive individual who can collaborate across departments and contribute to improving the procurement process.
Duties And Responsibilities
Identify, evaluate, and manage suppliers to ensure reliable sources of supply; negotiate favorable terms and prices with vendors.
Source, evaluate, and order materials, equipment, and supplies, ensuring they meet quality and quantity standards.
Draft, review, and manage purchasing contracts to secure favorable terms and mitigate risks.
Continuously seek opportunities to reduce procurement costs through strategic sourcing and negotiation.
Ensure all procurement activities are compliant with company policies and legal requirements; maintain accurate records and documentation.
Conduct market analysis to stay informed on industry trends and emerging products that may benefit the organization.
Work closely with departments to understand their procurement needs and provide support in sourcing specific materials or services.
Education Other Skills Required
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field; relevant certifications
3+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management.
Demonstrated ability to manage procurement processes and develop effective sourcing strategies.
Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build and maintain vendor relationships.
Proficiency in procurement and ERP software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with a proven ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
Strong understanding of contract management principles and experience in drafting and reviewing agreements.
Familiarity with relevant regulatory requirements and an understanding of import/export laws and logistics (if applicable).
Analytical skills with the ability to assess supply market conditions, identify cost drivers, and develop cost-reduction strategies.
Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, with the ability to present data and reports clearly to stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on achieving results.
Proactive approach to problem-solving and adaptability in a fast-paced work environment.
