Job Summary
The Telecoms Project Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of telecommunications projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires strong leadership, organizational, and technical skills to effectively manage resources, coordinate teams, and communicate with stakeholders.
Duties And Responsibilities
Develop and manage detailed project plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
Coordinate tasks and activities across cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment with project goals.
Facilitate regular team meetings to track progress and address any challenges.
Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders to communicate project status and resolve conflicts.
Ensure stakeholder needs and expectations are identified, documented, and met.
Identify, assess, and mitigate potential project risks.
Develop and implement contingency plans to address unexpected challenges.
Monitor and manage project finances, ensuring adherence to the approved budget.
Track and record expenses accurately to maintain financial transparency.
Allocate and manage personnel, equipment, and materials effectively.
Optimize resource utilization to achieve project goals efficiently.
Ensure that deliverables meet established quality standards.
Promptly address any defects or issues during project execution.
Track project milestones and provide regular status updates to stakeholders.
Utilize key performance indicators to measure progress and ensure accountability.
Collaborate with vendors to ensure their products and services align with project requirements.
Monitor vendor performance and address any issues promptly.
Conduct post-project evaluations to identify successes and areas for improvement.
Document lessons learned and incorporate them into future project planning.
Education Other Skills Required
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
Project Management certifications, such as PMP, are highly desirable.
Registration with ERB at the professional level is an added advantage.
Strong understanding of telecommunications technologies and industry practices.
5-7 years of proven experience managing large-scale projects, with a history of delivering projects on time and within budget.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to present complex information to diverse audiences.
Budget management, risk assessment, and problem-solving expertise.
Proficiency in project management tools such as Microsoft Project.
Effective interpersonal skills to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
Strategic thinking and ability to align projects with organizational goals.
Ability to handle multiple priorities and maintain a results-oriented focus under pressure.
