The Health and Safety Manager is responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy work environment by developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive health and safety programs. This role involves training employees, conducting risk assessments, ensuring compliance with legal and corporate standards, and fostering a culture of safety across the organization.

• Create and enforce health and safety policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legal and corporate guidelines.
• Provide comprehensive training on health and safety policies and practices.
• Prepare and deliver educational seminars and webinars to promote safety awareness.
• Identify potential workplace hazards and implement preventative measures.

• Act as the organization’s representative during health and safety inspections and inquiries.
• Advocate for the organization’s safety policies and practices to external stakeholders.
• Provide assistance and guidance to workers affected by safety incidents.
• Collaborate with third parties to facilitate worker support and rehabilitation.
• Prepare and present safety performance reports to senior management.

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences and Management, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
• Advanced certifications such as NEBOSH, OSHA, or IOSH are highly desirable.
• Registration with relevant professional boards or safety organizations is an added advantage.
• At least 3 years of experience in the construction industry, with a strong preference for telecommunications projects.
• Minimum 3 years in a management-level health and safety role.
• Proven track record of developing and implementing successful safety programs.
• Strong analytical skills to identify, assess, and mitigate workplace risks.
• Ability to communicate policies, precautions, and safety information effectively.
• Engage employees in promoting and maintaining a safe workplace.
• Collaborative approach to working with all levels of staff to build a positive safety culture.
• Diligence in implementing health and safety initiatives and ensuring their fulfillment.
• Expertise in interpreting legislation, writing policies, investigating accidents, and controlling hazards.
• Technical Expertise:
• In-depth knowledge of health and safety legislation, regulations, and best practices.
• Experience in conducting risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations.
• Proficiency in using safety management systems and reporting tools.
• Additional Requirements:
• Experience liaising with regulatory bodies and managing compliance inspections.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and respond to emergencies promptly.
• Demonstrated leadership in fostering a culture of safety within an organization.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to multiple project sites as needed.
