Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Project Coordinator with at least 3-5 years of experience, preferably in agriculture, to manage the project in the maize value chain. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the project, coordinating with farmers, local authorities, the private sector, and donors. The role will also involve leading a team of at least 4 people and working on securing new projects for the company. This position is for a 2-year contract, subject to renewal.
Duties And Responsibilities
Oversee and coordinate the implementation of the maize value chain project in collaboration with farmers, local government authorities, the private sector, and the donor (GIZ).
Recruit, manage, and guide a team of at least 4 people to ensure successful project execution.
Develop and write project proposals to secure additional funding and new projects for the company.
Prepare detailed project reports, documenting progress and challenges.
Communicate regularly with stakeholders to ensure alignment and transparency throughout the project.
Identify and pursue new project opportunities to bring to the company, with new projects being a key part of the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Conduct regular field visits to meet with farmers, monitor project progress, and ensure effective implementation.
Ensure all project activities meet the specified objectives and deadlines.
Ensure the successful training of 2,000 farmers in the Morogoro region, improving their maize production capabilities.
Maintain strong communication with the donor to ensure all project requirements are met.
Regularly assess project performance and implement corrective actions when necessary.
Education Other Skills Required
Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Project Management, or a related field.
At least 3-5 years of experience working with donor-funded projects, preferably in agriculture.
Proven experience in writing project proposals and reports.
Strong command of English, with excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
Strong mathematical background to manage budgets, financial reporting, and data analysis.
Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to field locations and meet with farmers.
Leadership skills with the ability to lead a team and manage multiple project components.
