Job Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant of relevant experience to oversee and manage critical financial activities. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring compliance, improving financial processes, and supporting strategic decision-making within the organization.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA (T) qualification is preferred but not compulsory.
- 2-5 years of proven experience in accounting or finance roles.
- Strong knowledge of Tanzanian financial regulations and tax laws.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Tally) and Microsoft Excel.
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in work.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and lead a team effectively.
Education Other Skills Required
- Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
- Oversee general ledger operations and ensure accurate and timely recording of transactions.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations, including bank and supplier accounts.
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support strategic planning.
- Ensure compliance with Tanzanian tax laws, including VAT, PAYE, NSSF, and corporate tax filings.
- Lead the preparation and coordination of audits and liaise with external auditors.
- Maintain and monitor the fixed asset register, ensuring accurate depreciation and asset tracking.
- Supervise junior accounting staff and provide mentorship to support their professional development.
- Identify and implement improvements to financial processes and internal controls.
- Assist management in financial decision-making by providing relevant data and insights.
