Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and knowledgeable Transportation Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will oversee all aspects of our transportation operations, ensuring efficient and effective management of the logistics process. This role involves finding loads, handling documentation, managing payments, and maintaining client relationships. The Transportation Manager will also be responsible for recruiting drivers, managing a small fleet, and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Find and secure loads, ensuring timely and efficient transportation services.
- Complete and manage all necessary documentation, including contracts, proof of payments, and other related paperwork.
- Chase payments, ensuring timely receipt and accurate record-keeping.
- Visit and communicate with clients to discuss load offers, contracts, and payment statuses.
- Recruit, train, and manage drivers, ensuring a high standard of service and compliance with company policies.
- Oversee the daily operations of the business, including fleet management and driver coordination.
- Maintain up-to-date legal paperwork for all aspects of the operation, including contracts, fleet insurance, and records.
- Ensure all contracts and signatures are in order and properly filed.
- Provide direct communication and reporting to senior management.
- Utilize the company's email for all official communications.
- Work Monday to Friday, with flexibility to work weekends if needed.
Education Other Skills Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Transport Management, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognized university
- Proven experience in transportation, logistics, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of transportation and logistics processes, including load securing and fleet management.
- Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Experience in recruiting and managing drivers.
- Proficiency in using transportation management software and other relevant tools.
- Must have own transportation, phone, and laptop.
