Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Fleet Manager to oversee the operations, maintenance, and efficiency of our vehicle fleet. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring cost-effective fleet management, optimizing vehicle utilization, and maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory standards. This role requires strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage logistics in a fast-paced environment.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Develop and implement fleet management strategies to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs.
- Oversee vehicle maintenance, repairs, and servicing schedules to ensure reliability and safety.
- Monitor fuel consumption, vehicle usage, and driver performance to optimize fleet operations.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and transportation regulations.
- Coordinate with drivers, logistics teams, and external vendors to maintain seamless operations.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle registrations, insurance, and maintenance reports.
- Analyze fleet data and generate reports on performance, expenses, and areas for improvement.
- Implement GPS tracking systems and other technologies to enhance fleet monitoring.
- Develop policies and training programs to improve driver safety and efficiency.
- Handle fleet-related emergencies, breakdowns, and accident reports.
Education Other Skills Required
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Logistics, Transport Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in fleet management or logistics.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance, transport regulations, and fleet optimization.
- Proficiency in fleet management software and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience managing a large fleet of vehicles.
- Knowledge of GPS tracking and telematics systems.
