Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Network Support Engineer to provide technical support, installation, and maintenance of internet services and network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have expertise in troubleshooting and configuring network devices, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Duties And Responsibilities
Provide technical supportto clients on internet-related issues via phone, email, and on-site visits.
Install, configure, and maintain fiber optic and microwave wireless equipmentfor internet services.
Set up, test, and troubleshoot WAN, LAN, and VPN networkson the client’s premises.
Maintain the company’s network infrastructure, including fiber-optic backbones, repeaters, and towers.
Evaluate and resolve client issues in a timely and professional manner.
Monitor network performanceand ensure uptime, efficiency, and reliability.
Analyze client-reported problems weekly and monthly to identify recurring issues and propose solutions.
Ensure all trouble tickets and client complaints are resolved promptly and provide regular reports to management.
Maintain accurate documentation and provide regular service updatesto clients.
Work closely with internal teams to improve service delivery and customer satisfaction.
Education Other Skills Required
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Telecommunications Engineering.
Minimum of 2 years of experiencein a related field.
Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of LAN, WAN, VPN, Fiber Optic, and Microwave Wireless Technologies.
Expertise in network device configuration and troubleshooting(routers, switches, TCP/IP protocols).
Proficiency in Windows and Linux-based operating systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
Excellent customer service and client-handling skills.
Strong communication skills in English and Kiswahili, both written and verbal.
Good interpersonal skills, ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
Possession of a valid Class ‘C’ driver’s license.
Willingness to go the extra mile and demonstrate flexibility in handling tasks efficiently.
