Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented QHSE Officer to lead and oversee quality, health, safety, and environmental (QHSE) initiatives within our logistics operations. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with industry regulations, developing safety policies, conducting risk assessments, and fostering a strong safety culture across the organization. The ideal candidate should have experience in the logistics, transportation, or supply chain industry, with expertise in QHSE management systems.
Duties And Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies, procedures, and risk management strategies in line with legal and industry standards.
Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Ensure employees receive proper safety training and awareness programs to minimize workplace risks.
Monitor and enforce PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) compliance across all operations.
Implement and oversee ISO standards, HSE policies, and quality management systems within logistics operations.
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations related to waste management, emissions, and sustainable logistics practices.
Drive initiatives to reduce the company’s carbon footprint and promote eco-friendly transportation solutions.
Monitor supplier and contractor compliance with QHSE requirements.
Maintain records of all QHSE incidents, audits, and safety observations.
Prepare and submit reports on safety performance, compliance levels, and corrective actions.
Collaborate with management to ensure safety KPIs are met and continuously improved.
Organize and conduct safety drills, emergency response training, and toolbox talks for employees.
Provide QHSE training to teams, ensuring a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
Engage employees in health, safety, and environmental awareness programs.
Liaise with government authorities, industry regulators, and auditors on compliance matters.
Stay up to date with local and international QHSE regulations relevant to the logistics sector.
Support internal and external audits, ensuring timely resolution of non-conformities.
Education Other Skills Required
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Logistics, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in QHSE management, preferably within the logistics, transport, or supply chain industry. Strong knowledge of HSE laws, ISO standards (ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001), and risk assessment methodologies. Experience in conducting incident investigations, audits, and compliance reporting. Ability to develop and implement safety programs and training modules. Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HSE management software is an added advantage.
