Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Mining Engineer to oversee mine planning, production optimization, and safety compliance. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in mine operations, geological assessments, and technical project management. This role requires strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a deep understanding of mining methodologies.
Duties And Responsibilities
Develop and implement short-term and long-term mine plans to maximize efficiency and resource recovery.
Oversee drilling, blasting, and excavation activities, ensuring alignment with production targets.
Optimize mining methods and equipment selection for cost-effective and safe operations.
Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Conduct risk assessments and implement control measures to minimize operational hazards.
Provide training and support to site personnel on safety procedures and best practices.
Collaborate with geologists to assess ore body characteristics and optimize extraction strategies.
Conduct feasibility studies, cost analysis, and resource estimation for project planning.
Utilize advanced mining software for designing and evaluating mining operations.
Work closely with maintenance teams to ensure optimal performance of mining equipment.
Implement process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce operational costs.
Monitor and analyze production data to identify areas for continuous improvement.
Education Other Skills Required
Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years in mining operations, with experience in open-pit or underground mining.
Proficiency in mining software such as Surpac, Vulcan, or MineSight.
Strong understanding of drilling, blasting, and ore processing techniques.
Knowledge of mine ventilation, slope stability, and environmental management.
Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong leadership, and the ability to work under pressure.
Willingness to work in remote mining locations and travel as needed
