Job Summary
We are seeking a visionary and strategic Senior Business Development and Sustainability Officer to lead initiatives that expand our market presence while embedding sustainability into our core operations and offerings. The ideal candidate will combine strong expertise in business development, financial markets, and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) frameworks, with a proven ability to foster strategic partnerships and drive long-term value creation.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to enhance product offerings, attract listings, and grow trading volumes.
- Lead market research and competitive analysis to inform strategic decisions and identify emerging trends.
- Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders, including potential issuers, investors, regulators, and market intermediaries.
- Collaborate with internal teams to design and roll out new financial products and services tailored to market needs.
- Develop proposals, pitch decks, and presentations to engage and secure new business partners.
- Lead the integration of sustainability principles and ESG considerations across all business functions and offerings.
- Support listed companies in adopting and reporting on ESG standards through guidance, tools, and capacity-building sessions.
- Develop sustainability frameworks, reporting templates, and benchmarks in line with global standards (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD).
- Drive initiatives aimed at increasing awareness and adoption of green finance and sustainable investment opportunities.
- Represent the exchange in industry forums, conferences, and working groups focused on capital markets and sustainability.
- Collaborate with regulators, industry bodies, and NGOs to advance policies that support sustainable capital markets.
- Lead public education and outreach efforts to promote financial literacy and ESG investing.
- Track and report on business development KPIs, ESG progress, and market impact.
- Monitor regulatory changes, global trends, and risks that could affect sustainability strategies or business growth.
- Prepare high-quality reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
Education Other Skills Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Environmental Studies, or related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification in sustainability or capital markets is an advantage.
- Minimum of 5–7 years of relevant experience in business development, capital markets, sustainability, or related fields.
- Strong understanding of financial markets, listing processes, and investment products.
- Proven experience with ESG frameworks, green finance, and sustainable development goals (SDGs).
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical and communication skills.
- Proven ability to develop and manage high-level partnerships.
- Strong project management and reporting abilities.
- Fluency in English is required; additional regional languages are a plus.
