The Role

Manage day to day operations whilst leading a team and continuously develop Commodity Inspections in Agriculture, Petroleum and Minerals Business within the country. Ensure risk and compliance standards are met when managing the Commodity Agri-food business.

With support from a Divisional Management team and Supervisors the Operations Manager will be responsible for improving performance in Quality and Technical activities, administer regional processes, manage the Commodity and Agri-food business to ensure risk and compliance standards, assist in technical matters. The successful incumbent will also be responsible for the overall P&L for the CTD/Agri-Food Business and will be accountable for targets set for this business line.


Duties And Responsibilities
  • Create Procedures in line with Corporate and Divisional policies
  • Map and update business processes and procedures
  • Identify and disseminate good practices
  • Maintain and improve Quality performance
  • Design and maintain the Quality of reports
  • Consolidate and analyze KPIs
  • Conduct Annual Management Review and follow up on action plans
  • Evaluate partners and or contractors on their Quality Management System
  • Consistently apply relevant policies and procedures both
  • Process all necessary administration and documentation in area of responsibility
  • Coordination and reporting of inspections in Tanzania as applicable
  • Monitoring of Operations and team performance.
  • Appraise with QHSE Policies and procedures and ensure compliance to respective teams.
  • Enhance collection of debt procedures from clients and maintain a healthy DSO
  • Preparation of all information material needed to support the relevant organizational unit

Education Other Skills Required
  • A proven track record in the delivery of organizational growth with. The candidate must have handled a portfolio of clients and generating revenue. At least 5 of the past portfolio clients must have been MNCs
  • Intimate knowledge of the Tanzanian business terrain especially in the FMCG and Agricultural inputs industry
  • Great project, customer and human management skills demonstrable through historical achievements in each of those critical areas of our business
  • A degree in a relevant field with at least 8 years post qualification experience especially in management, at least 3 years of which must have been in senior management
  • Candidates with prior experience in agribusiness role/s will be preferred
