Job Summary
As the Workshop Manager you are responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our workshop, ensuring efficient and effective workflow, maintaining high standards of service, and fostering a safe and productive work environment. This role involves managing a team of technicians, coordinating with other departments, and ensuring that all work meets the company's quality standards.
Duties And Responsibilities
Plan, organize, and oversee the daily operations of the workshop.
Ensure timely and accurate completion of all repair and maintenance tasks.
Implement and monitor standard operating procedures to improve efficiency.
Supervise, train, and support a team of technicians and workshop staff.
Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.
Liaise with customers to understand their service needs and provide expert advice.
Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through effective communication and service delivery.
Handle customer complaints and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
Maintain high standards of workmanship and quality control.
Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
Implement quality improvement initiatives.
Manage inventory levels of tools, equipment, and spare parts.
Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure timely availability of required materials.
Monitor and manage workshop expenses to meet budgetary targets.
Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations within the workshop.
Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions.
Implement and enforce company policies and procedures.
Maintain accurate records of all workshop activities, including job cards, work orders, and maintenance logs.
Prepare and present regular reports on workshop performance and productivity.
Use data to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
Education Other Skills Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
Proven experience as a Workshop Manager or similar role in the automotive industry.
Strong technical knowledge of vehicles, machinery, and workshop equipment.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities.
Proficient in using workshop management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
